Common Conditions Treated at Henderson Eye Center

It is important for everyone to locate an eye doctor they trust to take care of their vision. At the Henderson Eye Center, we aim to do just that. We are here to serve the people of the Henderson area. Our optometrist team has a tremendous amount of experience in dealing with a variety of ocular issues. We are here to share some of the common conditions that we treat at the Henderson Eye Center.

Common Conditions Treated at the Henderson Eye Center

At the Henderson Eye Center, we see a few conditions on a regular basis. Some of the most common conditions that an eye doctor in our office might treat include:

Refractive Issues: Refractive issues are among the most common issues that we treat. Refractive issues include myopia and hyperopia. These are typically corrected with glasses or contacts. Laser eye surgery can also be an effective treatment option for refractive problems.

Foreign Body: We also see plenty of patients who come to us with a foreign body in the eye. Some of the foreign bodies are quite small. These might include grains of sand or dust. On the other hand, other foreign bodies can be quite large. This might include a rod or piece of shrapnel. In some cases, foreign bodies might even require surgery.

Pink Eye: Sometimes, people come to see us with a condition known as pink eye. This is commonly triggered by an infection of some sort. It is almost always a virus. The eyes turn pink because of the inflammation that develops in the eyes. The blood vessels start to swell, leading to the appearance. This is very contagious.

Glaucoma: This is one of the most dangerous conditions we see on a regular basis. This condition develops as a result of pressure changes behind the eyes. This stems from a blockage in the outflow of fluid. When the pressure starts to build, the nerves behind the eyes are damaged. This leads to blindness. Some cases of glaucoma are actually medical emergencies. Trust us to take care of this.

It is important for everyone to see an optometrist as quickly as possible to get these conditions treated.
